The term “Rash Guard” refers to apparel that shields the wearer against sunburns or rashes brought on by prolonged sun exposure.
Rash Guards are also used in other sports such as baseball, football, water polo and above all in many combat sports, in particular those focused on ground fighting such as grappling which the body continually rubs against the ground.

“Best rash guard for the money, without a doubt.
It’s a fantastic fit for me. It is lightweight, breathable, comfortable, and long-lasting.
The stitching is excellent and has endured numerous washings and rough treatment while grappling.
The bottom waistband is my favorite feature.
It is cozy and maintains its position while wrestling, preventing the shirt from riding up.
The bottom band is a feature that none of my other rash guards have, and I believe it to be essential for all grappling rash guards.
It has the coolest aesthetic of all my rash guards, in my opinion.
I also have the short sleeves and the spats. I’d definitely suggest trying this and the other Elite Sports No Gi products.”

This rash guard’s design is fantastic.
It has a great combination of a cool, fashionable design on the sleeve and a reasonably modest design in the other 80% of the top.
It’s a wonderful break from the Tatami tops, which are now the most popular in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and feature large, bold logos throughout the entire shirt.
The dragon design is lovely and clear, and the general flowery pattern appears to be of great quality.
I’m not a fan of the white LAFROI emblem on the opposite sleeve’s wrist.
It’s made of a different material than the rest of the shirt, which may be frowned upon in Jiu Jitsu because it could provide a little grip to either me or my opponent depending on the position.
It’s nothing out of the ordinary, yet it’s obvious. It will not be an issue for most sports.
According to the reviews, many individuals recommend ordering a size lower.
Once I found the correct shirt, the fit was excellent.
Personally, I loved that you had a tight chest/shoulders, but the length of your arms and torso indicates a touch of looseness.
Although I purchased this for Jiu Jitsu, where the rash guard should be pretty tight, I believe this little bit of give is totally fine and greatly improves comfort and mobility.
I would say that the materials used to make the shirt are thicker than those used in some rash guards, which is why the ‘skin tight’ fit isn’t the most comfortable, and I personally preferred to go a size larger. But once I found a size that fit, I was in love with the fit and feel.
Overall, for the price, this is an excellent rash guard. I really like the design, and the fit and feel are excellent once I got the sizing right.
What We Love About It
- Tested by Pros, they put these rash guards through the ringer, so you can trust what you’re wearing has the same grit as you.
- Sanabul’s mesh underarms and gradual compression keeps you agile and provides ventilation
User Experience
As a Jiu Jitsu practitioner, I purchased this Rash Guard to wear underneath my gi.
I’m a 5’11” male who weighs 215 pounds; therefore, I lean more toward the fat side than the strong side.
I was unsure whether to get the L, which according to the description fits my height but not my weight, or the XL, which fits my weight but not my height.
So I made one of each purchase in various sequences.
First, I bought an XL that comfortably fits and hangs well below my waist.
Stretched almost to the legs, it was extremely simple to tie it with my pants.
As you would expect from a rash guard, the XL feels little loose on the body but won’t come off easily.
It’s quite cozy, but I feel like there’s a tiny bit of extra cloth on my torso.
Perhaps this wouldn’t occur if my back muscles were stronger.
I therefore purchased the L on my second order.
I thought it fit me perfectly after giving it a try.
Once more, it extends to the hip bone just below the waist.
With the pants, tying it up is quite simple. I don’t get out of it at all when I’m fighting since it’s extremely tight yet not painful on the body.
I would choose this size if I had to buy it again.

What We Love About It
- Minimum price & Maximum quality
- Excellent customer service
- Micro-Mesh stretch panels for air flow and ease of training
User Experience
Based on prior reviews, I chose to test Hawk as an alternative to the more expensive Under Armour or Nike brands.
The item is easy to move around in during BJJ or the gym and is comfortable to wear. Compared to a UA or Nike compression that supports particular muscle groups, the garment’s compression feels more generalized.
The clothing is thicker than my other, more costly brands, which traps heat and makes me sweat more while exercising.
This is the main reason why I only wear these clothes for exercise while other gym clothes are in the washer.
If your gym is chilly or you prefer to sweat more when engaging in vigorous exercise, I would strongly recommend them.
The company offers exceptional customer service.
My very first pair of spats had a slit stitched into the crotch.
I contacted Hawk, and they sent a replacement outfit right away. Hawk followed up later to make sure the replacement garment was as expected.
Due to this factor alone, I’ll probably make another buy from them. I wanted to use them for a while before writing a review so that I could assess the product honestly.
Bottom Line
This was our list of the best rash guards for bjj.
What we can tell you to choose the best is to choose based on design or brand preferences, because in the end, considering the quality, they are all worthy.
See you on the tatami!
